INSC Working Groups

The working groups support the INSC’s goals through collaborative input and targeted activities including communications, outreach, and workshop planning. Each group operates in alignment with the coalition’s overarching mission and ensures consistency across its initiatives.

Communications Working Group

Focus: Develop a strong, recognizable identity and ensure clear, consistent communication across all platforms, including the INSC website.

Time Commitment: Approximately one 1-hour virtual meeting every month, with occasional additional time for collaborative tasks.

Key Activities

  • Coalition Charter: Drafting a mission and vision statement to guide the Coalition’s work.
  • Website Content: Updating the website with project news, publications, and stakeholder information.
  • Visual Identity: Defining the Coalition’s visual identity, including logo, color palette, and design guidelines.
  • Content Creation: Producing written and visual content for digital and print channels.
  • Presentations & Posters: Reviewing presentations and posters for upcoming events and conferences.

Outreach Working Group

Focus: Build strategic partnerships, engage stakeholders, and promote awareness of INSC across scientific, policy, industry, and public audiences.

Time Commitment: Approximately one 1-hour virtual meeting every month, with occasional additional time for collaborative tasks.

Key Activities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identifying and building relationships with key stakeholders (scientists, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and industry representatives).
  • Outreach Materials: Drafting and preparing outreach brochures and talking points for INSC members participating in events and conferences.
  • Public & Scientific Outreach: Organizing public talks, expert panels, and roundtable discussions.
  • Funding & Sponsorship Liaison: Identifying and engaging potential sponsors, grant opportunities, and funding bodies.
  • Partnerships & Collaborations: Initiating partnerships with academic institutions, NGOs, and industry collaborators.

Workshop Working Group (By Nomination Only)

Focus: Guided by a pre-workshop perspectives paper, this group organizes a high-impact scientific and policy workshop to identify challenges, explore solutions, and develop a roadmap for action.

Key Activities

  • Agenda Development: Designing a structured, impactful program.
  • Speaker & Panelist Identification: Recommending and inviting leading experts and stakeholders.
  • Content Development: Preparing materials, discussion points, and takeaways.
  • Interactive Engagement: Incorporating tools (e.g., Slido, Mentimeter) and structured Q&A to foster dynamic dialogue.

Participation in this group is by nomination only. Individuals may nominate themselves to be considered, but final selection will be made by the INSC Steering Committee.
