On March 2–3, 2026, the Infant Nutrition Science Coalition hosted a workshop to identify consensus, gaps, and research priorities in infant nutrition science. The workshop explored foundational scientific questions across three topic areas:

  • Human milk as a guide for considering the inclusion of components in infant formula
  • Preclinical models used to evaluate ingredients
  • Clinical endpoints for assessing the safety and suitability of ingredients

In partnership with SciPinion, before the workshop, invited experts from academia, government, and industry completed an anonymized online discussion to review and debate key charge questions. Insights from this pre-work informed in-person discussions at the workshop, allowing panelists to explore areas of agreement, disagreement, and research gaps.
